Powering up the Roband GT480 is as simple as turning the power switch to the right. The thermostat controls the temperature of the cooking plate and cycles on and off to maintain the pre-set temperature. The temperature can be selected using the dial indicator, and most cooking is carried out between 180°C and 240°C. The dual element system provides independent control of the toasting function and griddle plate function, allowing your kitchen staff to achieve optimum cooking control.

Before cooking for the first time, the plates need to be seasoned. The griddle plate is thermostatically controlled and requires around 20 minutes to pre-heat the plates before using for the first time each day. The GT480 has an additional toasting element and multi-level toasting rack underneath the cooking plate. The toasting element is always on when the Power Switch is on.
